Die siedler von catanThe Siedler von Catan series started in 1995 with the 'Siedler von Catan' boardgame, which is a very nice game for 3-4 players.
In 1996, Kosmos published the 'Siedler von Catan' card game for 2 players, also a must-have.
These 2 games are the keystones of the success of Klaus Teuber Catan series. Many games and expansions exist now, but not all of them are good...
CarcassonneCarcassonne is the town in Southern France but Carcassonne is also the name of the game that won the "Deutscher Spiele Preis" and the "Spiel des Jahres" in 2001.
The basic game was published in 2000 and was a serious hype in game environments.
Many expansions and stand alone games were published since then, but not all of them are good...
Der herr der ringeThe film is better than the basic game, that's for sure.
But many games have been sold of 'The lord of the rings' basic game, so why wouldn't they think of expansions, 2-player games and adaptations? ;-)
